Chemistry:
  • Black ball point pens, preferably NOT gel pens (they bleed through the paper).
  • Pencils (mechanical are fine, preferably 0.5mm lead)
  • 1 – 2.5 or 3 inch 3-ring binder to keep handouts from completed units in at home
  • 1 – 1 inch binder to contain current unit material
  • 1 – calculator (any scientific calculator would do, or their math calculator)
  • 1 – spiral notebook for taking notes OR loose leaf paper that they can put in their binder
  • Learn the names and symbols of the elements on the periodic table. Making up flashcards is the best way to do this. It will make your first two weeks of chemistry a MUCH more pleasant experience!
