Counting down to holiday recess with fitness

Fitness CountdownFor the second consecutive year, Lansing is working together to count down to the holiday season with fitness.

Once again this year, the Lansing Central School District is taking part in the 12 Days of Fitness challenge, a fit and fun way to count down to the upcoming holiday recess. The challenge began on Monday, Dec. 10 and will run until Friday, Dec. 21. The challenge is sponsored by the Lansing wellness committee, Lansing GO!, and has had students taking part in practicing some fitness moves throughout the hallways.
 
The 12 Days of Fitness challenge consists of a new challenge each day. Students and staff are greeted each morning with a new fitness challenge that builds on the one from the days before. The goal of the 12 Days of Fitness is to perform the fitness challenge assigned for the designated day, as well as the exercises for the previous days. For example, on Day 1, participants only had one exercise. On Day 2, participants will do the exercises from Day 1 and Day 2, and so on.
 
While this is the third year the 12 Days of Fitness challenge has helped students and staff count down to the holiday recess, it is the second year that students have been included in the challenge. After a successful run last year, Lansing GO! decided to continue the tradition again this year.
