LHS Gives Back for the Holidays

Lansing High School’s Student Council Organization held a food drive for the Lansing Food Pantry during the week of December 9. First period classes at the high school combined to form teams of around 40 students. The team that generated the most donations would be rewarded with a pizza party.

At the end of the week, LHS students collected a total of 1,256 food items. Affectionately known as “Team Selfless,” Mr. Dewey, Ms. Fantacone and Mr. Brown’s classes were the winners of the competition with a combined total of 235 donated food products. Upon winning, in a further act of charity and kindness, the class decided to donate their pizza party to the Lansing Fire Department.

“The fire department works tirelessly even during the holidays to ensure our community is safe,” said the class.

Last night, the fire fighters enjoyed the pizza party donated by “Team Selfless” from Lansing High School.
