Update from Superintendent: 5/8/2020
Dear Lansing Community,
We are officially ending week eight of schools being closed due to COVID-19.
Budget discussions continue to occur at the local, regional and state level. We were recently informed that school districts will be learning more information regarding state aid funding and possible reductions in aid on Friday, May 15th. Due to this, we are postponing our 5/11/2020 board meeting to 5/18/2020.

In the meantime, we continue to implement our LCSD Continuity of Learning Plan while adjusting as necessary. We are also consistently collaborating with Cayuga Medical Center, Tompkins County Health Department and NYSED to remain up-to-date with information and possible re-entry plans for the fall. Unfortunately, many unknowns remain.
We expect to have many more updates for you in next weeks weekly message. Thank you for your continued understanding and support.
If you haven't had an opportunity, check out our LCSD Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/LansingCSD
It's a great day to be a Bobcat!
All students in grades K-12 should have been issued a student device if requested. We are also seeking information regarding available wifi services and supports. We will be contacting families that have identified as requiring assistance. If you require assistance, please contact us by emailing your building principal.
We continue to serve and deliver breakfast and lunch to approximately 200 students daily. Our food service department has been exceptional and we are so grateful for our transportation department.
Weekly meal packages are sent home each Monday.
If you would like to sign up for weekly food deliveries, please email Sandi Swearingen at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Child Development Council staff are working remotely and offering additional services to assure the well-being of children, families, and child care providers in our community. Child care availability is being monitored and referrals will be provided to essential personnel.
If you need child care, call CDC at (607) 273-0259 or email info@childdevelopmentcou
We understand there are many emails, Google Classrooms, Google Meetings, and other platforms that you and your student are expected to connect to on a daily basis. We are working diligently to streamline our resources.

Office hours for the week of 5/11/2020 – 5/15/2020
Most offices are working virtually unless otherwise noted by essential need. If you require assistance, please email or call the school and leave a message on the appropriate phone. It is an expectation that we are checking our voicemail and email consistently during this time period.
Extension of Education
Some of you have expressed interest in going above and beyond what your child’s classroom teacher is sharing with you. Here is a link to NYSED website with grade level information, videos, and additional resources: https://www.engageny.org/
