Activities and Clubs

    • Art

    Middle School Art Club is a place where students interested in art can come to experience art more extensively. Art club is not a drop in club. Interested students have to sign up in September. Projects include set painting for middle school plays, possible murals around the school, monthly art lessons and other small projects. Art Club members have the opportunity to go on field trips. Destinations will vary depending on cost and interest. Past field trips included local artist studios and art museums.

    • Chess

    The Middle School Chess Club meets after school. Any student interested in learning chess, playing tournaments or simply making connections with others is welcome. Chess sets are provided.

    • Musical Theatre Club

    The Middle School Musical Theater Club produces a musical each year. Rehearsals begin in September and the performances takes place the second weekend in November. 

    • Odyssey of the Mind

    Odyssey of the Mind has been the world’s greatest creative problem-solving program since its beginning, in 1978. What started as a project for students in a single industrial design class has grown into a world-wide program that has reached multiple generations, allowing students to learn, develop, and employ skills related to teamwork, resource management, designing and making, divergent thinking, and so much more. Odyssey of the Mind provides students with a place to learn today’s creative problem-solving skills while having fun!

    • Yearbook

    In producing the Middle School yearbook, 5th-8th students are involved in planning and laying out yearbook pages, copy writing, word processing, and photography. Staff meets two times a week in January, February and early March as the publishing deadline looms. Attendance at a minimum of 10 meetings is required.

    • Science Club/Green Team

    Students in the science club will enjoy a number of science related activities both indoors and out. In addition, this club is primarily responsible for the supervision of our Green Team activities including our effort to reduce, reuse and recycle.
