Amber completed a Bachelor’s degree at Cornell University and a Master’s degree in social work at Tulane University. She has worked in public elementary and middle schools for eight years; first as a special education teacher and then as a school social worker.
Amber’s role includes individual and group counseling, social skills instruction, crisis intervention, case management, consultation and collaboration with teachers and families, functional behavior analysis, and behavior intervention planning. She enjoys using strengths-based and solution-focused approaches.

Andrew completed a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in School Psychology at University at Buffalo. While attending UB he spent over four years assisting in the gathering and coordination of research targeting the effectiveness of writing interventions in elementary aged children. He has spent the first years of his career here at Lansing. Prior to becoming a school psychologist he spent three years working in the city of Buffalo as a vocational specialist assisting youth transitioning from high school with severe mental health challenges to find employment.
In the school setting, he has worked with children ages three to 18, while spending the majority of his time working with elementary students. Andrew has been responsible for psychoeducational assessment, counseling, case management, crisis intervention, consultation with teachers, parents, and other school personnel, chairing 504 meetings, chairing CSE meetings, functional behavior analysis and behavior intervention planning. Andrew is trained in motivational interviewing techniques, solutions focused therapy, and play therapy. A goal of his is to increase the school’s collaboration with community based healthcare systems so students are being treated holistically.

Lindsay received her undergraduate degree in psychology from SUNY Albany. She obtained a Masters degree in Education and Human Development from George Washington University. While living in Washington DC she worked with homeless populations and taught special education. Beginning in California in 2008, she has been working in school counseling for over a decade. She relocated back to New York in 2014, working as a multi-systemic therapist in the PINS Diversion program. In 2020, she received her Certificate of Advanced Study in school building and district leadership from SUNY Cortland. This additional credential supports her mission to create a positive school culture using systems approaches such as restorative justice, multi-tiered systems of support and social emotional learning curriculums.
Lindsay aspires to publish books about mental health for children. She loves utilizing games, music and technology as ways to engage students in finding their love of learning. Lindsay is led by a passion for diversity, equity and inclusion.
Lindsay joined the Lansing Bobcats in 2021. Her services include individual and group, special education counseling for students with individualized education plans. Targeted, informal interventions for general education students who are struggling in school and brief, crisis interventions are also offered. Lindsay partners with community organizations and assists with making mental health referrals. Teachers and support staff collaborate with school counselors to provide wholistic approaches for students. Lindsay leads the Social Emotional Learning Committee at the elementary school and teaches the Second Step program in the classroom to improve the wellbeing of all students.

Farr completed a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology at Colorado College and a Master’s degree and Doctorate in School Psychology at Alfred University. She has worked in the public schools as a school psychologist for the past 15 years. She has worked with children ages three to 18, with the majority of her work focused on elementary school-aged children.
Farr’s responsibilities have included psychoeducational assessment, counseling, case management, crisis intervention, consultation with teachers, parents, and community agencies, functional behavior analysis, behavior intervention planning and teaching classroom lessons related pro-social skills. Farr’s approaches include therapeutic crisis intervention, trauma-based counseling and support, play therapy, cognitive behavioral strategies, social skill development, and teaching emotional regulation skills.

Megan completed a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Nazareth College and a Master’s degree In Social Work at Binghamton University. Since receiving her Master’s degree, Megan’s work has focused on supporting children and families in school settings. She also provides support in the community through parenting classes and therapy in a private practice setting. Megan has enjoyed supporting the development of new social workers through teaching and supervising graduate social work students.
Megan provides individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, case management, and collaborates with teachers, families, and administration to meet the needs of students. Megan’s approaches include play therapy, trauma informed counseling, social and emotional regulation skills instruction, and cognitive behavioral therapies.

Tanya attended SUNY Brockport where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Master of Science Degree in Counseling. After college, Tanya worked as a Child and Adolescent therapist for Family Counseling Services of Cortland prior to starting as a school counselor. Tanya comes to Lansing Central School district with 16 years school counseling experience and has worked with students in grades 5-9. Tanya has worked closely with students and families on various issues to include academic concerns, personal and family challenges, anxiety, depression, self-harm and eating disorders among others. Tanya is devoted to helping students overcome challenges and meet success. Middle school counseling offers an array of opportunities to engage with students and promote success.
As a middle school counselor Tanya provides individual and group counseling, collaborates with teachers administration, support staff and outside service providers to determine students’ needs and provide support. Tanya also teachers classes and provides programing that fosters self-esteem, resilience, and social/emotional intelligence.

Kara has been in the field of education for 5 years. She values the school community and strives to meet students where they are in their educational journey. Kara has worked with students in grades 5-12 in both New York and Massachusetts prior to joining Lansing’s mental health team.
As a school counselor, Kara assists students in academic achievement, career planning and social/emotional development. Kara believes in encouraging students to take agency in their educational experiences, personal goals and future plans.

Beth completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology at SUNY Cortland and received her Master’s Degree and Certificate of Advanced Study in School Counseling at Syracuse University. She has experience working with students in grades K-12. Prior to joining the Lansing Mental Health Team, she worked as a high school counselor in a city school district for three years.
As a school counselor, she works with students and their families to ensure students’ social and emotional well-being, collaborates with school staff and community agencies in the interest of students, supports students academically, and guides students in planning for their future.

Dana completed her Master’s degree in Creative Arts Therapy: Dance/Movement Therapy at Drexel University, and three years post graduate studies in School Psychology at California State University San Bernardino. She has practiced in a variety of inpatient, outpatient, and school settings working primarily with children and adolescents.
As a school psychologist, her responsibilities include psychoeducational assessment, case management, crisis intervention, risk assessment, and school based counseling. She uses a variety of modalities incorporating skills from Trauma Informed Counseling, DBT, Solution Focused, Short Term Problem Solving, and Expressive Arts Therapies.

Ali earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at SUNY Oswego. She received her Master’s Degree and Certificate of Advanced Study in School Psychology from Rochester Institute of Technology. She has worked as a School Psychologist in various settings, including BOCES, city, and rural schools, with children ages 3-21.
Ali’s responsibilities as High School Dean of Student Services and CSE Chairperson focus on student and family support, teacher consultation and collaboration, functional behavior analysis, behavior intervention planning, Special Education support and chairing meetings, crisis intervention, risk assessment, and monitoring attendance. Ali is also a Trainer for TCIS (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools).
