Aurora Davis - I’m thankful for my family, my mom, my dad, and my brother Harrison. It’s so important to have a group of people you can always trust and count on, no matter what. Harrison and I earned our first-degree black belts in karate, which was so great to achieve together. I’m grateful for that and our karate teachers. I’m also grateful for the teachers at Lansing High School as they’re always willing to help and give guidance whenever we need it. I really appreciate how Ms. Ivery teaches government this year. Her class is so interactive and open, and she creates such an accepting space for everyone’s viewpoints.
It’s November, and this month we’re celebrating gratitude! On this Monday morning, we’re especially thankful for our Lansing High School Bobcats, for the way they show up, lead with kindness, and set an example for others.

Stay tuned all month long as we share student voices in our #BobcatGratitude campaign leading up to Thanksgiving! 🦃💛💙

🥕 Taste the Rainbow... of Carrots! 🥕

Today’s salad bar featured colorful rainbow carrots grown locally at Stick & Stone Farm in Ithaca, NY!

A huge shout-out to Daryl from Building & Grounds for helping make this local connection possible by picking up the carrots so our Food Service team could serve them fresh to our students.

It’s always exciting to bring local produce from nearby farms straight to our school lunch trays — supporting local agriculture and giving students the chance to taste the difference!

Yesterday was truly one for the books! 📖🙌 A huge thank you to Victoria Jamieson, co-author of “When Stars Are Scattered”, for visiting Lansing Middle School and sharing her story, artwork, and wisdom with our students.

Our entire middle school read "When Stars Are Scattered", so meeting the author behind the book was an incredible full-circle moment! Students were captivated by Victoria’s journey as an author and inspired by her message about how storytelling can change lives and strengthen communities. 🏘️

Her visit left our future authors and artists feeling inspired! 🎨

Students took a deep dive into learning about the salt mine under Cayuga Lake and all the fascinating work that goes into Cargill’s operations. 🚜🛠️ It was a fun and informative day of digging into possible career futures! ⛏️
